Mid-August 2015 is the time for the new Samsung Galaxy Note 5.

According to a person familiar with the matter,  Samsung Electronics Co. will move up the autumn launch of its oversize smartphone lineup by several weeks to mid-August, instead of a IFA 2015 4-9 September launch.

Speculation are saying it is because the company wants to take some slice of the market pie from Apple, since this last usally launch the new iPhones in September.

These are some of the speculated specifications: 5.67-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, a bit of a departure from the 5.89 inches we were previously led to expect. The smaller diagonal means a 70.6mm display width, and that somewhat clashes with the narrow bezels and overall 77.3mm width.   The Note 5 will be powered by the in-house Exynos 7422 SoC, a reworked version of the already familiar 7420 inside the Galaxy S6, but with built-in cellular modems this time.
