Fujitsu Extends "Choose Your Own Device" Line-up With New Generation LIFEBOOK.

News facts:
- Refresh for LIFEBOOK clamshell, 2-in-1, Ultrabook notebook models and STYLISTIC tablet with latest, 5th generation Intel vPro Core processor family
- Seven different notebooks now use a standard port replicator, providing a guaranteed remedy to the common headache of docking compatibility
Fujitsu today extended its popular LIFEBOOK® notebook and STYLISTIC® tablet range with new devices featuring the latest 5thgeneration Intel® Core® vPro® processor family. With this line-up, Fujitsu responds to the continuing trend of companies offering their workforce the opportunity to "choose your own device" that is right for their individual needs.
The new Fujitsu notebooks feature improved battery runtimes and deliver higher performance. New models to join the LIFEBOOK range include a classic clamshell, a 2-in-1 device and two Ultrabooks all offering optional features such as convenient touch screens plus must-have enterprise requirements like Trusted Platform Module and SmartCard readers. The STYLISTIC range of products also is expanded with a new 2-in-1 device.
Selected new LIFEBOOK models1 also are compatible with a standardized, universal docking station: The LIFEBOOK Family Port Replicator can now be used with eight2 different computing devices, including notebooks, Ultrabooks and 2-in-1 devices.
New models joining the Fujitsu LIFEBOOK and STYLISTIC line-up:
  • The FUJITSU Tablet LIFEBOOK S935 – a 33.8 cm (13.3-inch) 2-in-1 device that combines the flexibility of a tablet with the power, long battery runtime and super-thin design of an Ultrabook
  • The FUJITSU Tablet LIFEBOOK T725 – a smaller, 31.8 cm (12.5-inch) 2-in-1 device that fits the new docking station, designed to enable users to optimize their productivity through its modular bay concept, where the optical drive can be replaced with a second battery, a second hard drive or a weight-saving blank
  • The FUJITSU Notebook LIFEBOOK U745 – a 35.6 cm (14-inch) slim and light Ultrabook that provides the best of both worlds for professionals craving optimum mobility and requiring full connectivity like a VGA output – also adding an additional security layer with PalmVein Sensor technology and compatibility with the new docking station
  • The FUJITSU Tablet STYLISTIC Q775 – a 33.8 cm (13.3-inch) hybrid 2-in-1 provides the perfect balance of the mobility of a tablet and the productivity of a notebook when paired with the keyboard docking station. Advanced security features like the SmartCard or PalmVein Sensor technology create the ultimate device for a variety of vertical environments
New common port replicator for extra convenience and reduced TCO
By standardizing on a new common port replicator for notebooks and a common cradle for tablets3, users can enjoy the convenience of desktop computing when in the office – with their device plugged in to the main power supply and instantly connected to displays, Ethernet networks and external USB peripherals such as keyboards, mice and other accessories. Notebooks and tablets effortlessly click in to the dock – without any need to reboot – and undocking is a one-handed operation that simply requires the flick of a switch.
The new Fujitsu docking station standard lowers total cost of ownership (TCO), since it means a reduction in expenditure on computing hardware and the ability to reuse existing docks when notebooks reach the end of their lifecycle. Further, mobile workers benefit from simply being able to dock-and-work in hot-desk environments, without needing to buy or carry multiple cables and adaptors, or waste time plugging in multiple devices every time they change desks.

Marc Janssens, Executive Vice President, Platform Products and Retail at Fujitsu America, Inc., says: "Organizations today need to give their workforce more choice when it comes to business notebooks. At Fujitsu, we offer a wide range of notebooks and tablets to meet these diverse and varied user requirements. For example, this latest LIFEBOOK update gave us the chance to standardize docking stations, solving a small, but everyday frustration for our users. This is one of many examples of how Fujitsu truly listens to user feedback and designs its products with their experience in mind."
