What is Project ROME for Education?
Available as a pilot program for school districts, Project ROME for Education lets students and educators express, collaborate and communicate ideas using graphics, photos, text, video, audio and animation in a simple, unified content creation and publishing environment to enhance the learning experience. Project ROME for Education is designed specifically for students in classroom settings.

Adobe, the leader in creative software solutions, is offering Project ROME for Education to help equip educators with new ways to communicate, express, and educate students. Project ROME for Education helps enhance the learning experience and prepare students with 21st Century skills.

Who uses Project ROME for Education?
Project ROME for Education is ideal for large school districts and other education institutions that want to use digital media as part of their 21st Century learning and skills development efforts. Educators can use Project ROME for Education to create content that helps convey complex topics more visually, or use as an ideation and collaboration platform with other teachers and students.

Adobe is offering a pilot program for Project ROME for Education. If you are interested in having your school district or institution participate, please go to

A member of the Adobe Education will contact qualified applicants with further information. Project ROME for Education is another great extension to the Adobe family of software solutions. As a SaaS offering, Project ROME for Education is unique in its ability to work as both a browser-based web application and as a desktop application for complete flexibility.

How much does Project ROME for Education cost?
Pricing is not determined yet. Project ROME for Education is currently available for trial as part of a free preview program. When it is released, Project ROME for Education will be offered as an affordable, paid subscription service for districts and institutions.

When is Project ROME for Education available?
Project ROME for Education is currently available as part of a pilot program, and for individual trial as part of a free preview program. A final release date has not yet been determined.

Project ROME for Education does support cloud-based computing, or the ability to share resources leveraging a common, seemingly virtual server. Project ROME for Education supports the ability to share files with others through Google® Apps for Education or MoodleTM learning management system.

How is Project ROME for Education different than Adobe Creative Suite?
Project ROME for Education differs from Adobe Creative Suite® solutions in many ways. Project ROME for Education is designed for educators who want to use the power digital media as an effective way to educate, collaborate and communicate with students. Project ROME for Education’s tools, interface and capabilities are simple but powerful, and do not require expertise in design. The Adobe Creative Suite software is designed for experienced professionals requiring the breadth and depth of creative tools and advanced integrated workflows for high quality, professional results. Adobe Creative Suite customers operate the software on higher-performance desktop computers, and typically use the tools and workflows as part of their profession, creating everything from sophisticated advertising, print materials, books, magazines, interactive websites and online experiences to training video, feature films and television commercials viewed by audiences worldwide. Adobe Creative Suite 5 is available in a range of integrated suites for Web, Design and Video production (

How is Project ROME for Education different than Adobe Digital School Collections?
Adobe Digital School Collection (ADSC) is a collection of desktop software applications that leverage the power of desktop processing for image and video editing and organizing. Adobe Digital School Collection has a wider array of features including video and audio editing that Project ROME for Education does not currently offer. ADSC is only available for use in K-12 schools.

What are the eligibility requirements, system requirements and terms of use for Project ROME for Education?
For institutions that are interested in piloting the application, Project ROME for Education requires the institution to have Google Apps for Education and/or Moodle learning management system previously installed.

Project ROME for Education does not currently work on mobile phones and devices.
